Companionship

The loss of a loved one, families that live far away or health issues can lead to social isolation and loneliness. It is important that you have the opportunity to live the life you choose, staying connected to the people that are important in your life, engaging in your community and pursuing your hobbies and interests. Companionship can be as simple as a regular friendly face calling in for a couple of hours a week or someone who will keep you company for longer periods.

Whether you need support to visit friends, attend events, take a journey, go on holiday or simply to have a cup of tea and a chat, Beacon is here to help.

You may be a family member living away from your loved one and are unable to provide the hands on support that you would like because of other essential commitments. Beacon can help fill the gap, giving you peace of mind

We understand that accepting someone into your home can be daunting and that's why we believe that continuity of care is vital in order to foster positive relationships. That’s why you will have the opportunity to meet with your assigned Beacon carer before your contract starts to make sure you know who will be visiting.

Our staff are thoroughly vetted and checked to ensure that we only employ the kindest people who share our core values and sign up to Beacon’s Code of Conduct. Our staff receive ongoing training and supervision and are paid a real living wage plus travel time so you can be sure your carer is fully supported to give you their best.
