Beacon have been providing information, advice and advocacy support to users of the Leicester South Food Bank since January 2018.
We have encountered single people and families, the old and young living in poverty, arising from a number of issues including the lack of continuity for those working on zero hours contracts, low wages, delays in Universal Credit, high private rents, issues accessing disability benefits and people in need of adult social care services.
This work is part-funded with additional services being provided pro-bono as part of our commitment to our own guiding principles and those of the Community Interest Company structure.
